RIM Delays Its New Smartphone Blackberry 10
Canadian multinational communication company, Research in Motion (RIM) announced that it delays to the launch of its new smartphone Blackberry 10.
The RIM’s upcoming smartphone Blackberry 10 is one more addition in the line of its smartphone and tablet handheld devices.
This year is one of the most disappointed years for the Blackberry maker, RIM, most of its devices cut back its prices due to high competition
One of the company’s official, Mike Lazaridis said that RIM’s new smartphone will need a highly integrated chipset that will not be available for the Blackberry fans until mid-next year, so the company can now expect them to ship late in the year.
Industry experts said that now, the future of the Canadian smartphone maker company depends on its new software platform, the company must come up with a compelling BlackBerry as the smartphone market have moved on to flashier touch-screen phones like iPhone and many other devices that run Google’s Android OS.
RIM said on Thursday that the sales of its smartphone fall sharply in this current holiday season, and providing additional data that it is struggling to compete. The company also has been having a tough time in the market of tablet computer, its tablet computer Blackberry PlayBook failed to achieve its target and hurt badly, which were launched with much hype earlier this year, the current market of tab are dominated by Apple’s iPad.
In start of this month, the company said its revenue of the third-quarter ending on September, was slightly lower than the company had projected and its earnings were at the low to mid point of its forecast.
RIM said in third quarter, it shipped its tablet computer 150,000 units, down from 500,000 in the period when it debuted.
