Washington Man Files A Lawsuit Against Symantec Software


 

One of the largest makers of security software for computers, Symantec Corp is now facing a lawsuit which said that the company persuades consumers to purchase its software products by scaring them with deceptive information about the health of their computers.

 

According to the some media reports, a resident of the Washington, James Gross filed the lawsuit in District Court in San Jose, California on Tuesday.

Gross’s attorney provided a copy of his complaint to media which claims that that the security software maker Symantec distributes trial versions of its products that scan a user’s computer system, then regularly report about many harmful errors, privacy risks and many a lot of other problems exists on the PC, regardless of the real condition of the computer.

The complaint showed that the Mountain View-California based company uses that scanning software products to market Norton Utilities, PC Tools Registry Mechanic and PC Tools Performance Toolkit software.

The tech media reported that Symantec’s different products likes Norton Utilities and PC Tools are products which help to improve the performance of desktop computers and keep online activities private.

Gross attorney said that the Symantec software is falsely informing the consumer that errors are on high priority and also it is falsely notifying the consumer that their computer system health and privacy health is very low.

Attorney said that they tested many other products of Symantec but the problems are with the only three mentioned in the complaint.

The company Symantec is one of the top makers of consumer anti-virus software, and is best known for its Norton brand Norton 360, Norton Internet Security and Norton AntiVirus software.
