Sony Play station is Here to Stay!
Sometimes there is an error when we use terms regarding a network which is used by millions around the globe. In a similar incident which took place this week Sony Entertainment has announced that it would rename PlayStation Networks Accounts as the Sony Entertainment network accounts. Though this is a very minute change, many fans including the editorial outlets considered it equivalent to the debacle of the PlayStation Network. From the beginning it was simply ridiculous to get the name PSN going away and now it is confirmed that the PlayStation Network will for sure remain just the way it has always been. However the only change is that users who initially had PlayStation Network accounts will now have accounts of Sony Entertainment network. The idea behind this whole exercise was to simplify things for the subscribers.
Just one year ago some dramatic measures were taken as the various online services of Sony were broken down into the PlayStation Network and the Qriocity video and music networks which were new at that time. The independent branding pursued by the company for these services was surprising for many who believed that Qriocity was an altogether different entity. In September last year, Sony interchanged the word Qriocity with Sony Entertainment Network, and now the PlayStation accounts are also facing the same fate. Theoretically it can be said that the step will be instrumental in facilitating the company for the promotion of its video and music services a major step forward for Sony with as little confusion as possible.
Now, one has to wait and watch that whether this new approach adopted by Sony will help to get and edge over its competitors like Netflix.
